Who I Am
I'm the CEO and co-founder of Future‑Fit Foundation, and lead author of the Future‑Fit Business Benchmark. My name is pronounced "Jef", although many non-native English speakers often call me "Gay-off", which admittedly sounds like far more fun!
Since I was a kid I've always been driven by a desire to build things, to understand how stuff works by taking it apart, and to fix anything that breaks. Which is probably why I was drawn to the field of sustainability.
I'm neither an optimist nor a pessimist, but a serious "possibilist." If as a species we choose to look at the world analytically, and focus our almost boundless creativity and ability to collaborate in the right ways, we can still get ourselves out of this mess.
Besides trying to save civilisation as we know it, I'm a lover of the written word and the natural world, founder of high-tech startups, ex-artificial intelligence researcher, born-again cyclist, wannabe timelord, technology watcher, keen photographer and devoted dad.
I feed on new ideas and intelligent conversation, so if you know where to find any don't hesitate to get in touch!
